Laying down the first of our Throwback Thursdays with Katie Frost before she heads off to Tons of Rock later this month.
2018 so far, lets see what you’ve been up to Katie!
Ice Nine Kills @ KOKO – 25/01/18
This band were a photographer’s dream to shoot but this is my favourite of the shots I took that night as all the band are in the photo, and jump shots are always tricky, so I was proud of this one!
Marmozets @ ULU – 07/02/18
Marmozets are one of my all-time favourite bands so shooting them is always a dream for me. I like this shot as it shows Becca interacting with the adoring crowd.
Alestorm @ HRH Metal Festival – 17/02/18
Alestorm are another of my favourite bands so I traveled to Birmingham to shoot them at HRH Metal festival. I think this shot captures the fun and tongue-in-cheek attitude of their live performances!
Myrkur @ Kentish Town Forum – 13/04/18
Yet another of my favourite artists (this year has been good to me!) – I got to photograph Myrkur supporting Epica back in April. I love the delicacy of this shot and the juxtaposition between the darkness and light.
Code Orange @ Brixton Academy – 21/04/18
I hadn’t seen Code Orange live before but they were full of energy and I think this shot really captures that. One of three bands supporting Trivium that night.
Power Trip @ Brixton Academy – 21/04/18
Another cheeky jump-shot! The band had to stop their set a few times due to issues in the crowd, but they didn’t let that phase them and they ramped up the energy each time they re-started.
False Heads @ Thousand Island – 26/04/18
For me this kind of shot just oozes rock ‘n’ roll, and I am really happy with it! The stage at Thousand Island (formally Upstairs at The Garage) is tiny and accessible on three sides giving photographers access to more angles to shoot from than just the front of the stage.
Ensiferum @ Islington Academy – 01/05/18
Windrose @ Islington Academy – 01/05/18
Windrose were one of two excellent bands supporting Ensiferum. Their costumes were incredible and I really love this shot as I think it captures the vibe of their music and the passion of their performance.
Machine Head @ Roundhouse – 18/05/18
For me this was one of the highlights of my year so far. Machine Head are a huge band to me and I love their music, so getting the opportunity to photograph them meant so much to me.
Thank you Katie! We love you and you’re amazing! Katie is exhibiting at Shout About It Live! Check out her work along with some incredible music! Plus you even have the chance to own some of your own Katie Frost shots for yourself if you go! Tickets are available at Skiddle
