A powerful line up of Irish Music Legends including Shane MacGowan, Van Morrison and Imelda May come together for Vince Power’s Feis Liverpool.
The big event took place on the world famous Liverpool waterfront with the main stage situated right in front of The Liver Building. The biggest celebration of Irish Culture in Liverpool certainly delivered a whole host of contemporary and traditional Irish music.
Crowds gathered for main stage acts Mary Coughlan, The Dublin Legends (Dubliners) and The Chieftains early on in the day. A great mix with the second stage acts Jack Lukeman, Nathan Carter, Sharon Shannon and Hudson Taylor. The atmosphere was electric from the get go with happy festival goers singing songs back at the stage for every set. It was certainly a buzz being in the photo pit for The Dubliners ‘I’ll tell me maa’.
As a photographer, it’s often difficult to get yourself to every set but Feis was perfectly planned leaving enough time to bounce between stages. A personal favourite of the day was the extremely humble Foy Vance performing songs from his album ‘The Wild Swan’ leaving the crowd singing the words to ‘Guiding Light’ as he left the stage.
Overall the day was a fantastic celebration of Irish music ending with a grand finale from a huge mix of Irish Legends.
